The Hunter and the Fishing Beeman

You hunt for a rabbit
In a desert like adobe
I hunt for walleye
In a yellowed river called Maumee

A large eye looks at you
From a carob tree
To make sure that I obey the fishy rules
Binoculars also focused on me

While standing in the turbulent river
I also think of my bees and their bread
This is as strange as your sardine
Being cooked in the sunny desert
