Autecology of honeybee. We have been studying the effect of temperature on eggs and capped broods of honeybee. We made important finding in temperature effect on the mortality, developmental period, and exterior morphology. Especially, we found three dominant phenotypes including newborn vein, protrusion vein and missing vein, in hind wing of Apis cerana cerana (Hymenoptera: Apidae), during capped broods development after lower temperature treatment. We have reported out  results in “Acta Ecologica Sinica”.
Population genetics of honeybee. We have been studying the genetic diversity and the genetic structure of different populations of Apis cerana cerana, and the genetic differentiation among populations by using morphology, mitochondrion DNA, microsatellite DNA as markers. We have finished a series of studies on Apis cerana cerana from Fujian province. A high degree of genetic difference exists among the honeybees in Fujian. There are 43 new mitochondrial haplotypes in non-coding region between tRNAleuand COII sequence were discovered (Accession Number HM461260-HM461269, HQ186273-HQ186281, JN157775- JN157798).
