  • The last hug, by a pretty bug

I took this photo Nov 7th (many years ago)…seeing that the bee was desperate on that little flower…I wrote this “poem” (sorry I had no formal training in writing poems, so it is not my spoon of honey :) .

    let me embrace you
    tightly
    once more

    for snow is coming
    tomorrow

    icy knives
    of the winter wind
    will cut away your
    pretty petals

    frost will not
    appreciate
    your beauty

    the hasty tongue
    of the freezing rain
    will not taste
    your sweetness
    ever so subtle

    let me embrace you
    once more

    that last drop
    of sweetness

    will give me strength
    to fight off

    six months of boredom
    darkness
    bitter cold

but I will be here again
    in May

when again you put on these
    pretty yellow dresses

    that make my life
    so sweet

    that make the world
    bright and gay
