In memory of those who died today, 26 years ago, June 4, 1989 in Beijing China.
The red ones of Lamprocapnos spectabilis (Papaveraceae) are called bleeding hearts. One variety is all white (Alba), so it is hard to call them bleeding hearts still. Because the heart is no longer bleeding (I suppose after 26 years, your blood will run dry!).
1. White, purity
2. There comes a bee.
3. She has pollen on her baskets.
4. She just ignores me
5. Then she flies away, pursuing another patch of purity.
I have the red variety at home, I have never seen honey bees visiting the red one. Are the white ones different? or just luck and too many bees there? I saw many bees foraging on iris on that day also.
Google images turned one honey bee foraging on a red variety, so I guess it is possible :)
